Horse Racing – Training Schedule

To ensure that your horse is in the right condition, you should make a good training schedule. Starting from a low level, gradually you should train them with higher sessions, taking care of their good health. The stages of training can go as follows -.

  • Training foals for younger horses.
  • Ground training
  • Support

Foals. Shortly after birth, foals are handed over to their respective protectors. They use the method of imprinting , in which shortly after birth they are exposed to the atmosphere in which they have to spend the rest of their lives. They are exposed to human touch and voice. This type of nursing method ensures that the foals learn the fact that humans are not harmful to them and should be respected.

After they are 1-2 years old, they are introduced to some ground training. This makes their bones stronger. However, it is recommended that they not be ridden until the end of this training.

Below are the different training schedules

Round penning.

Teach your horse to respond to your commands, give him directions, teach him how to respond, etc. Д.

Desensitization

Getting him to flap objects and let himself touch and feel objects.

Ground Driving.

Using a leash to teach the horse to move forward when accompanied by a person behind him.

Bitting

Facilitating the horse with reins, bits and bridles.

The final step, back-biting, is the process of riding. In this process, the horse becomes comfortable so that the person can ride it. First, they are given to pull the cart at the early age of 2 or 3. By the time they gain enough human trust and love, they are introduced to human riding.

Racing – Hazards and Criticism

There are many injuries that can happen if a rider is not careful. The list includes bent tendons, splints, stumbles, neck fractures and hip fractures, some of the most common injuries that both jockey and horse go through. According to a recent study from the Equine Injury Database , fatal injuries increased 20% in 2014 compared to 2013. According to the New York Times, every year out of every 1,000 riders, 600 are injured, of which 20% are very critical.

All riding associations are now advised to follow a certain set of checkpoints in order to minimize injuries as much as possible.

  • Excessive strain causes fatigue on the horses’ bones. Consequently, trainers are advised to follow a strict training schedule that will focus on the strength of their bones and their ability to withstand stress under extreme conditions.
  • A pre-examination should be done so that catastrophic injuries are known in advance.
  • Educate owners and trainers on the various signs of injury and teach them how to take care of their horses.

Criticism at Horse Races

Horses are known to be humanity’s most faithful animal after dogs. Horseracing, which was started for the purpose of gambling spirit, has now become a market for gambling and animal torture. This torture has many definitions regarding horses. For some, cruelty may be the way a rider rides his horse. Considering that for some others it may be the poor environment and lack of quality nutrition in which horses are forced to train.

Some basic criticisms of horses

  • Unnecessary use of whips.
  • In spite of restriction, excessive breeding of horses.
  • Slaughter of old and retired horses.
  • Artificially using dangerous drugs to enhance performance.
  • Premature use of horses for riding and heavy training.
  • Forcing young horses to run on hard surfaces causes serious limb problems.
  • Gambling in games through auction, betting money, etc. Д.

For the best future for horses, the industry must take criticism positively. Every governing body must see to it that no horse is tortured during training. Proper quality nutritious food must be provided and strict measures must be taken against those who gamble on the market.
